Summer hits. Heat waves roll in. You stay inside. Gaming becomes a refuge. Streaming replaces walking.
Samsung knows this. They’re dropping a batch of new screens. Not just gaming gear, but work displays and portable units too. Some of this is industry first. Most of it won’t set the standard. It might define it.
You can’t buy them yet. Details? We’ve got them.

Higher Resolution, Faster Refreshes
The Odyssey lineup has always been top-tier. Samsung wanted to go higher. Much higher.
Forget 4K as the ceiling. They’ve introduced 5K and 6K monitors. Both have DisplayPort 2.1. They talk to AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync without friction.
Then there’s the Samsung Odyssey G8 (G80 HS).
It’s a 32-inch beast. First-ever 6K gaming monitor. Clarity is insane. Detail pops. The IPS panel packs 224 pixels per inch. Refresh rate sits at 165 Hz. Want more speed? Switch to dual mode. It drops the resolution to 3K but jumps the refresh rate to 330 Hz.
Smaller screen, similar philosophy. The 27-inch Odyssey G8 (G80 HF) does 5K at 180 Hz. It hits 218 PPI. Dual mode pushes that to 360 Hz.
Who needs this? You’ll figure it out.
OLEDs Get Brighter and Faster
Contrast matters. Speed matters more.
If OLED is your preference, Samsung has two new entries. The larger one, the Odyssey OLED G7 (G73 SH), is 32 inches. It offers 4K at 165 Hz gameplay looks smooth. Response time is 0.03 ms. Competitive players will notice.
The Odyssey OLED G8 (G80 SH) is smaller but quicker.
27 inches. 240 Hz. It also uses Glare Free technology. This helps if you game near a window or under harsh lights. Samsung calls it VESA DisplayHDR True Black500 certified. Blacks look deep. Colors look vibrant.
Which one do you want? The choice is tricky.
Work Screens Get a Boost
Gamers aren’t the only ones upgrading. Workers get love too.
The Samsung ViewFinity S85 (S85 TH) is huge. Forty inches. Curved display. It hits 144 Hz and uses Thunderbolt5 for data transfers at 80 Gbps. That’s fast for heavy tasks.
If 40 inches feels too much, go for the 27-inch ViewFinity (S80 HF).
It delivers 5K resolution. Connectivity relies on USB-C. Clean. Simple. Effective.
Portability With a Spin
Need versatility? Samsung has the Movingstyle Essential.
It’s not a typical portable screen. This one mounts on a rolling stand. Height adjusts. It tilts, swivels, and pivots. The screen itself is 43 inches with 4K UHD resolution.
Use it for gaming. Use it for work. Move it from the bedroom to the living room for movies. It does all that.
Prices start around $899.99. Ordering hasn’t started. Wait a bit.
Prices might drop later. Or demand will drive them up.
